After studying in Germany and widely travelling around the world, UAE national Mariam Hareb has returned to her native home turf to ignite her passion for the environment, keen to make a difference to the world around us. Her role as Director of Administrative Affairs at the Emirates Marine Environmental Group (EMEG) allows Mariam to regularly participate in fieldwork and research undertaken by the group.

With her extensive background in retail and fashion it comes as no surprise that Sahar Mekkauui would use her insight for all things beautiful and break away from the UAE’s run-of-the-mill mono-brand designer stores and open independent boutique Ginger & Lace. Sahar saw the niche in the market for such an exclusive and eclectic boutique shopping experience back in 2005 and a second Ginger & Lace store opened in Wafi Mall in 2007.

Nicole’s first involvement with Movember, a charity that raises funds for prostate cancer research and promotes awareness of men’s health, was in 2006 back in Australia. In order to spread the Movember word further afield, Nicole decided to give up her home and career in property in Melbourne and move to Dubai. Despite its serious intentions, Movember is all about growing a moustache to promote awareness, making it a much sought after event to be involved with.

Originally from Turkey, and having worked extensively in Europe and the Middle East for numerous national and international companies, Lale Ansingh is one of the region’s most insightful and forward thinking businesswomen. In 2001, Lale founded PR company, RAWAJ International, changing the face of the industry in the UAE. Now in its 8th successful year, RAWAJ boasts over 75 top local and international clients, including Nakheel, Dubai International Film Festival and Saks Fifth Avenue.

As well as a dedicated wife and mother, Padma Coram has been a key player in changing the UAE from the barren desert it was in the 80s to the vibrant city of entertainment and culture it is today. As Managing Director of a leading event organization company in the region, The Talent Brokers, Padma has not only brought stars from around the world to our shores but donates 10 per cent of the company’s income to charitable and humanitarian causes.
